across the river styx

I've actually got two versions of this, but this one looks more sailor-soldier, while the other looks more gothic-lolita. I like them both, but since this is a contest entry, I felt this one worked better.

This is my version of the "new" Sailor Pluto, designed for =DracheaRannak's Sailor Dwarf Planet Contest

I think the only part of this that didn't get redrawn after scanning was my signature...

re:the scythe. yup, that is the garnet orb. in scythe form. it's a design has been floating around in my sketches for a number of years now, and it was the ultimate deciding factor for doing Pluto. I have sketches of MakeMake, and Haumea that were really tempting but... Pluto. :3

Also, be proud of me for not writing "caution" on the choker. I've decided Eri wears caution tape for a choker in her normal form, though. It doesn't have to make any sense.

So yeah, when her former princess was reborn, the soul-program woke up and checked to see if it's star seed had been reborn, too. Nope, sorry. Not yet. Toooo bad for Pluto."

"Uh... miss... I don't think this is really--"

"Shush. I'm explaining things. Where was I? Oh right, so this soul-program goes 'crap, now what?' and eventually decides to pretend to be Sailor Pluto when the Princess decides to go through the Gates. It's a whole thing, you know?"

"No, really. This isn't the time-- you need to-- DUCK!"

"A big thing as it turns out. It's like punching the time stream or something, and finally Pluto's star seed remembers that it needs to be reborn, too. Can't just leave the team to fend for itself. Well, I think it could have, but that's just me."

"GET OUT OF THE WAY!"

"Now now, no need to get fussy. Anyways, Pluto's star seed uses the time-stream punching to drop itself into a body at some point in the past. Approximately nine months before May first, sixteen years ago, actually."

"Mercury, can you get her OUT OF HERE?!"

"Maa, maa, you're rather grumpy tonight, Mars! I'm trying to make a point here!"

"You're trying to get yourself KILLED!"

"Not at all! Let me demonstrate my totally lack of me dying."

"Miss, just come with me, we'll get you to somewhere saf--"
